CEU releases ‘largest-ever study of European data privacy breaches

Findings from a report released by Central European University's Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) indicate that the personal data of millions of Europeans have been compromised with 89 percent of the breaches the fault of corporations, rather than governments or other kinds of organizations. 24 percent of the Europe-specific breaches were the result of breach attacks launched from the UK, and for every 100 people living in the UK, 200 personal records have been compromised.

Gartner survey of more than 2,800 CIOs reveals that CIOs must "flip" their leadership styles to grasp the digital opportunity

As the technologies and trends that power digitalization move to center stage, CIOs are being presented with a unique opportunity to become digital leaders according to a global survey of CIOs by Gartner, Inc. The survey showed that CIOs are fully aware that they will need to change in order to succeed in digital business, with 75 percent of respondents saying that they need to adapt their leadership style in the next three years.

Sophos has acquired cloud-based security firm Mojave Networks of San Mateo, Calif. This acquisition will strengthen Sophos cloud-managed and appliance-based security solutions. To Sophos Cloud, an integrated cloud-managed security offering, Mojave will add a rich cloud-based web security solution. And to Sophos’ line of network security hardware it will enable hybrid deployment options (SaaS and non-SaaS) to meet diverse web security needs.
