World première of OX App Suite at home.pl

Poland’s leading hosting company to provide up to 1,500,000 users with cloud-based alternative to Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps.

home.pl, the leader in Internet services in Central and Eastern Europe, is the first large hosting company to offer OX App Suite, an innovative communication and collaboration platform for the mobile-app economy that integrates email, documents, office productivity, scheduling and social media in a single user interface.

Developed by independent software vendor Open-Xchange, OX App Suite provides consumers and business customers with a fully featured web desktop that delivers a consistent data and user experience across laptops, tablets and smartphones. OX App Suite enables users to manage email, contacts and appointments in a single user interface, integrated with other services like Google Mail, Hotmail and social network feeds from Twitter and Facebook. In addition, home.pl customers benefit from the ability to view and manage their media such as pictures, videos and music, as well as manage and edit office documents using OX Text, a tool for direct text editing in the browser.

“home.pl customers have today become the first recipients of this ground-breaking solution that comprehensively supports the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Thanks to the new web-based desktop, users can work in a browser window to read and send mail, plan their working day using a built-in calendar, and check activity on Facebook. When away from the office, these services can also be accessed from a smartphone or tablet, making this a solution designed for modern mobile businesses,” says home.pl CEO Marcin Kusmierz.

Thanks to its cooperation with Open-Xchange, the new home.pl communication and collaboration service is becoming a real alternative to the solutions offered by global giants like Google and Microsoft. Previous versions of the Open-Xchange system are currently used by more than 70 million Internet users throughout the world.

“We are pleased that the first large production deployment of OX App Suite is happening at home.pl, which is one of our key partners. The market for Internet services in Central and Eastern Europe is developing at a dynamic pace, and we are confident that our solution will accelerate this development and bring many benefits to businesses,” says Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange.

Engineered and designed for the mobile world, OX App Suite uses open standards, HTML5 and advanced JavaScript integration to securely connect people and their digital media content anywhere they want to communicate, collaborate and share it. With responsive design at its core, OX App Suite delivers a consistent data and user experience across laptops, tablets and smartphones.
