SDC appoints new MD

Sedley-Burke’s passion and motivational drive will play an essential part in further growing the SDC business.

Sovereign Business Integration Group (Sovereign) has appointed Joanna Sedley-Burke as Managing Director for its subsidiary company Sovereign Data Connect (SDC). The client-focused role was a natural choice for Joanna, given her vast Business Development experience and skill set within Sovereign. The new position will see Joanna take full responsibility of the running and delivery of SDC and task her with further growing the business.
With nine years’ experience working for Sovereign, Joanna has seen the organisation develop and is looking ahead at the new challenges she will face in her latest role. Joanna comments, “Being involved in the creation of the data centre has given me a great sense of ownership and responsibility for SDC’s future. I see the data centre being at the heart of business and I am looking forward to focusing on this very specific market and showcasing how SDC’s offering can accommodate businesses looking for a secure and well-located data centre service.”

The data centre expansion at Metro Point, which launched in 2012, is described as a ‘unique boutique’ offering, according to Joanna. “It is more than just a data centre,” Joanna adds. “Although the main purpose is to hold a business’ data, it has the added value of a service delivery team and a service-orientated approach. Our clients have praised this ethos highly and we are consequently seeing increasing demand from not only our current sectors - but new ones too. I cannot wait to acquire more clients and watch the facility flourish.”
