cloudbase.io has selected leading Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider SoftLayer, now an IBM company, to run its Private Cloud offering. The new service will provide a secure scalable solution that gives developers complete control of their data including a 99.99% uptime guarantee, while being hosted at SoftLayer’s data centres in either North America or Europe.
Integrating with developers existing systems to deploy mobile apps with ease and speed, cloudbase.io is powered by a NoSql database that can perform complex data operations within object-orientated architecture. SoftLayer’s IaaS capabilities enables cloudbase.io to work with developers so they can build full-featured mobile applications that can be launched in minutes without ever worrying about server management.

Private Cloud contracts come with 20 hours support per month to help with customising a developer’s platform, from custom Cloud Functions to entirely new API, and is complemented by a range of client libraries designed to make building apps on all mobile platforms as fast and seamless as possible. cloudbase.io is completely scalable, from one server to hundreds, with the development team monitoring customer traffic to make the transition at the appropriate time without any system downtime.
Security has been central to the latest cloudbase.io developments, with 2048-bit encrypted HTTPS connections, and advanced authentication now standard. “Data is core to our clients’ business and we want them to have complete control of it,” adds Buliani. “The public cloud is still perceived as a potential security risk so we’re working hard to help customers feel as secure as possible.”
