Taking a punt on virtualisation

Riverlite is proud to announce the signing of a 3 year Hosted Managed Services contract with iconic Cambridge punting company Scudamore's. Established in 1910, Scudamore's Punting Company is the largest punting company in the world with nearly 150 craft and represent the quintessential Cambridge experience for the half a million visitors who flock to the city every year.

In common with many commercial organisations Scudamore's has experienced increased dependency on an ageing IT infrastructure combined with a desire to harness all the business benefits that a remote cloud based solution can deliver. Whilst punting on the Cam has changed little in the 100 years plus of Scudamore's existence, the client experience allied to the demands of a modern business has changed beyond recognition.

Clients expect to be able to book online, combine their punting with other activities, book a restaurant or city tour etc. Equally from a business perspective the ability to utilise and maintain contact details, develop affinity marketing programmes and profile market sectors is essential.

By engaging with Riverlite, Scudamore's will be hosted using the latest Citrix and Microsoft technologies giving a secure, scalable and highly responsive platform to run their business from. Housed in Tier 3 data centres, Riverlite’s Hosted service enables Scudamore's to prepare for their next stage of their IT development as they look to improve their Point of Sale capability, enhance their CRM system and develop a state of the art Intranet.”
