Next Connex announces Datum Datacentres as a new Open Access Partner

Next Connex has invested in connecting its high capacity Open Access Network to the fast-growing data centre hub in Farnborough in partnership with Datum.

Next Connex is offering low latency bandwidth on its dedicated fibre diversely routed into the 1,000 rack capacity Datum Data Centre located within the government-grade security Cody Park in Farnborough. Next Connex is directly connecting the site to over 200 carriers, exchanges and CDNs available to interconnect at its Telehouse and Slough nodes.

Bob Griffiths, MD of Next Connex said, “Farnborough is developing as a new London edge data centre hub with enhanced government grade security and accreditations. It is a privilege to partner with Datum, one of the fastest growing operators of high-quality co-location. As part of a £40m IT services business their ethos and culture is supporting business critical IT and with client-focused flexibility, we look forward to matching that approach with the provision of competitive bandwidth options for their clients.”

By combining new and innovative Data Centres such as the Datum facility with an Open Access connectivity partnership from Next Connex, it will no longer be necessary to maintain a costly presence in London’s main carrier exchanges. End users now have a choice in the Data Centre market whilst maintaining their connectivity relationships with a vast range of available carriers, delivered seamlessly over optical fibre infrastructure.
Dominic Phillips, Managing Director of Datum said, “The addition of Next Connex to the choice of connectivity options in the Farnborough hub is great news because with their Open Access Network, customers can benefit from simple and competitive connectivity to dual data centre solutions and carriers or exchanges with a presence in Docklands or Slough”.
