Joan has been appointed to meet demand for IT training and up-skilling in businesses due to rapid advances in technology and to support the continued growth within the IT sector.
Recent forecasts suggests that the IT and computing sector will continue to expand and will be a key element of business growth in the UK. The research showed that employment in the IT sector over the next decade is projected to grow nearly five times faster than the UK average.*

Ms. Gilbert joins New Horizons London with a successful track record in training people to enhance their job performance and career progression.
Having begun her career as a technical trainer at New Horizons in the USA, Ms. Gilbert went on to become a senior technical trainer at Pearson in Practice (Technology), where she spent more than four years mentoring and training apprentices in IT and business skills. During her time there she was also responsible for commercial SQL 2008 and 2012 training.
Commenting on her new role, Ms. Gilbert said: “I have a real interest in customising class content for all levels of student, from beginner to CIO level. At New Horizons London my role will be to deliver courses ranging from the use of new Microsoft Office software to managing servers and networks.
“As technology continues to advance at a rapid rate there is a need for IT professionals and individuals looking to enter the sector to enhance their skills. There is also a greater need for IT training within businesses generally on how to use new Microsoft operating systems and office suites.”
