Skyscape Cloud Services announces availability of services on G-Cloud 4

The assured cloud services provider also reveals huge growth in number of channel partners due to success of recently launched Partner Programme.

Skyscape Cloud Services Limited has announced that the full range of its accredited cloud services will be available on the G-Cloud Framework – G-Cloud 4. Skyscape’s Pan Government Accredited (PGA) cloud services, which support data protectively marked from IL0 to IL3, will be available to the 30,000 UK public sector organisations eligible to buy through the CloudStore by the end of October 2013.

“We are delighted with our continued success in ensuring our full range of accredited services is available on G-Cloud 4,” said Phil Dawson, CEO of Skyscape Cloud Services. “We firmly believe that the G-Cloud programme has been transformational in facilitating improvements in the use and procurement of IT services in the public sector, and ultimately delivering a better service at a better price to all UK citizens and taxpayers. To demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the fundamental principles of the Framework, we have also recently announced significant cost reductions of nearly 60 percent in addition to service enhancements across our Compute-as-a-Service, Storage-as-a-Service and Email-as-a-Service offerings on G-Cloud 4.”

Skyscape’s newly launched Partner Programme has also seen huge success, with over 60 organisations now officially recognised as partners of the cloud services provider and over two-thirds of these also listed on G-Cloud 4. Skyscape is dedicated to working with partners as it recognises that its assured cloud platform in collaboration with the offerings of SIs, MSPs or ISVs is a compelling proposition for the public sector as the UK Government continues to encourage cloud adoption.

“As a company, we are thrilled with the success of our new Partner Programme,” continued Dawson. “The majority of our Partners are using our accredited platform to offer their solutions or applications via G-Cloud. We have long believed this to be an important message to businesses looking to gain entry to the Framework. By partnering with other providers, suppliers are able to rapidly deliver value-added services to the public sector. With G-Cloud continuing to present such an excellent opportunity to businesses of all sizes, education of both buying organisations and suppliers will be vital in ensuring that the fourth iteration of the Framework continues to succeed in simultaneously improving services for public sector organisations and broadening the market to smaller suppliers.”

Skyscape provides a range of assured cloud computing services dedicated to the UK public sector, delivered with leading technologies from Alliance Partners: QinetiQ, VMware, Cisco, EMC and Ark Continuity. Skyscape’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Software-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service solutions have helped to transform the provision of IT solutions into a lean, elastic, assured green utility by providing a genuine on-demand cloud computing service.

Since the launch of the G-Cloud programme in February 2012, Skyscape has been a major supplier to the Framework and together with its partners, accounts for a significant number of the accredited cloud services that are available. Skyscape has won several highly significant contracts through G-Cloud, including the highest deal ever to be awarded via the Framework – to provide services to the Home Office’s Disclosure and Barring Service for Platform-as-a-Service, with an estimated value of £1.5m per annum. Skyscape is currently working on over 100 projects across central government, local authorities, police, healthcare and other publicly funded bodies.
