CloudSigma and Zadara™ Storage, Inc. have announced a strategic partnership to offer Zadara’s Virtual Private Storage Array™ (VPSA™) service alongside CloudSigma’s existing high performance, all-SSD compute offering. “CloudSigma’s reputation for quality, innovation and customer service is unmatched in the industry and we are proud to be teaming up with them on this advanced public cloud storage partnership”

Through this new partnership, CloudSigma customers gain access to Zadara’s private block and file Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) services at hourly rates, serving as either primary (for applications) or secondary (for repository) storage. In cooperation with CloudSigma and Equinix, Zadara has also placed dedicated, flexibly deployed hardware at Equinix’s data center colocation facilities, with dedicated, high-speed network connections into CloudSigma, so cloud-delivered performance remains exceptional, even for massive data volumes.

“We have always been committed to providing superior storage performance in the cloud, and our partnership with Zadara is another step toward that goal,” said Robert Jenkins, CEO of CloudSigma. “Zadara’s large-volume, sharable, elastic, by-the hour, enterprise storage solution helps us satisfy an even more diverse set of storage needs for our customers; and, together, we are helping advance the public cloud market by enabling enterprise grade tiered storage strategies in the cloud.”

Zadara’s technology features large volumes of 100+ TB, volume-sharing among multiple cloud servers, NAS for unstructured data, dedicated spindles and on-demand scaling for capacity and performance. In line with CloudSigma’s focus on data transparency, Zadara also offers unique self-service provisioning and administrative control under completely private environments, so customers concerned with data regulations can always know the exact location of their data.

“CloudSigma’s reputation for quality, innovation and customer service is unmatched in the industry and we are proud to be teaming up with them on this advanced public cloud storage partnership,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO of Zadara Storage. “Our combined offering demonstrates our ability to serve and meet the needs of a wide variety of cloud customers and we expect this will be a significant step toward making Zadara a ubiquitous platform for cloud storage.”

Based on present exchange rates, Zadara Storage is priced at $0.13 per GB per month (or 0.10€ per GB per month in Europe) for fully protected, large capacity, highly available, sharable storage with SSD caching. Pricing scales up or down depending on the customer’s performance and capacity requirements. Zadara’s VPSA service is available immediately for CloudSigma’s Zurich cloud customers with the additional U.S. locations coming on stream soon.

“We have more than 650 customers colocated in our Ashburn data center campus in the D.C. metro area and are delighted to have a role to play in supporting the partnership between CloudSigma and Zadara, which will benefit our existing customer base,” said Dick Theunissen, Equinix EMEA CMO.
