WWF International benefits from Carrenza cloud IT solutions

WWF International selects Carrenza IaaS for its hosting requirements.

Carrenza Limited has completed an agreement with WWF International to provide full Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions to the charity.
WWF International was looking for a new solution for its complex and wide-ranging IT needs after being forced to move from its existing data centre by its previous supplier.

To support its worldwide operations, the charity needed a web platform that was capable of hosting up to 60 international websites for its operations in various countries around the world.

The company therefore used a tender process to evaluate partner options, with flexibility and reliability key factors in their decision-making. Carrenza came out on top in this, with its strong track record with other charitable organisations such as Comic Relief and Age UK and extensive experience with providing infrastructure hosting for a wide range of high-demand ecommerce sites also being key factors.

Jeff Thomas, Head of Technology and Applications at WWF International said: "In addition to being a specialist cloud provider, Carrenza also clearly understands our business needs as a charity and has a strong presence within the not-for-profit sector. In partnership with Carrenza, we look forward to evolving our IT platform in response to our evolving requirements.”

Carrenza impressed WWF International with its presence in Amsterdam's Equinix AMS 3 facility, which won various awards for innovation when it comes to creating energy efficient data centres.

As well as web hosting, WWF International also benefit from hosting its central IT services, including active directory and Google Search Appliance, on Carrenza technology, taking advantage of the resilience and high performance of Carrenza's IaaS solution.

Dan Sutherland, chief executive of Carrenza, commented: "Multi-national organisations like WWF International need to know they can always rely on their infrastructure to react quickly and cost-effectively to the demands of a rapidly-changing environment around the world."
