EVault launches Long-Term Storage Service

The EVault Long-Term Storage Service (EVault LTS2) is a cloud infrastructure storage service that enables organizations to preserve skyrocketing volumes of digital assets for decades while maintaining instant accessibility and keeping the total cost of ownership (TCO) very low. This new service is a direct result of our OpenStack project.

EVault LTS2 is an object storage system that builds upon and has enhanced OpenStack Object Storage. Accessible via both OpenStack Swift and S3 APIs, EVault LTS2 eliminates vendor and data lock-in. We are backing this service with the industry’s most comprehensive service level agreements (SLAs) for data durability, availability, portability and survivorship.

EVault LTS2 features include continuous data integrity checks to ensure data remains healthy and unchanged, auditable event tracking to help monitor data access and management activities, and rich metadata to categorize and find content. The service is purpose-built to manage and preserve digital assets for decades enabling organizations to derive value from their long held content to enhance their products and services.

Content stored in EVault LTS2’s disk-based service is immediately accessible; unlike tape-based and other cloud archival solutions, where data retrieval may take hours to days. We provide bulk physical import and export of data via physical media.

EVault LTS2 is low-cost, pay-as-you-use storage, starting at $15/TB/month. As a cloud service, it eliminates upfront capital expenditures and reduces associated ongoing operational costs. Existing applications will integrate seamlessly with LTS2 through industry standard REST APIs or third-party cloud gateways. This API and gateway support not only protects investment in existing applications, but also speeds up time to deployment.
