Unisys Limited says that the cloud-based Unisys IT Service Management-as-a-Service (ITSMaaS) solution is available on the CloudStore, the procurement site which is part of the UK government’s G-Cloud initiative.

Based on global Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards, Unisys’ ITSMaaS solution integrates service management technologies from leading providers with Unisys advisory, implementation and lifecycle services. The Unisys solution currently processes more than 600,000 service events per month for clients.

UK public-sector organizations can now easily procure Unisys’ ITSMaaS from the CloudStore to help improve the delivery and support of IT and business services to their end-users, while simplifying service operations and reducing capital and operating costs. The service is available through an annual subscription.

Drawing on Unisys’ extensive experience in service management, the cloud-based ITSMaaS offering provides rapid access to leading tools for managing IT service delivery throughout organizations. Depending on configuration and other factors, implementation of the Unisys solution can take as few as 45 days, compared to the six months that cloud-based ITSM deployments typically take. In addition, the solution includes the capability to organize and orchestrate data necessary for delivery of services tailored to each user’s job requirements.

“We understand how important it is for public-sector agencies to get reliable, cost-effective support in place so their employees can deliver services to citizens more quickly and efficiently,” said Kevin Rayner, head of client services, UK/EMEA, Unisys Global Managed Services. ”By making Unisys ITSMaaS available on the CloudStore, we are giving public agencies in the UK access to a solution that we could roll out for them in weeks rather than months and providing them with comprehensive post-implementation support. Availability of the solution on the CloudStore provides a compelling proposition for organizations seeking to streamline the procurement process, enhance their service management capabilities and reduce costs.”

Modular Structure Provides Flexibility and Economy
Clients need not purchase the entire ITSMaaS solution at once, but could select among available modules, based on their requirements and the desired pace of implementation.

Based on ITIL v3 and hosted in a private cloud-based infrastructure with a Web interface, Unisys ITSMaaS includes three pre-configured environments: Production, Test and Development. The integrated suite of modules includes:
· Service Desk (Incident and Problem);
· Service Catalog;
· Change and Release Management;
· Service Request Management;
· Knowledge Management;
· IT Asset;
· Configuration Management Database (CMDB); and
· Service Level Management.

Unisys ITSMaaS also includes platform maintenance, upgrades, 24x7 monitoring of the platform and up to 99.5% application availability.
The solution also includes a full training and support program to facilitate system rollout, minimize downtime and encourage faster issue resolution. It also includes maintenance services, minimizing the cost and resource requirements associated with on-premise ITSM.
