ZTE Corporation has won orders from China Mobile for GPON (Gigabit passive optical network) equipment in the operator’s annual tender.
ZTE was one of only three successful vendors in China Mobile’s tender after a stringent selection process. The tender, for more than 614,000 ONUs (optical network units) and over 3,000 OLTs (optical line terminals) tested each vendor’s product quality and capabilities in research and development, solution customisation, delivery and technical support. The other winning bidders were Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell and FiberHome.
“ZTE is committed to achieving a win-win situation with its customers through dedicated R&D efforts and high-quality customer services,” said Bei Jinsong, Director of Optical Access Products at ZTE. “Our efforts have resulted in industry-leading product performance and increasing market acceptance for ZTE’s GPON equipment.”
According to the latest report on the global fixed-network market by industry analyst Ovum, ZTE’s GPON equipment shipments in the fourth quarter rose 27 percent, the fastest growth rate among major vendors, benefiting from demand in the Americas, Europe and China. ZTE is committed to maintain the company’s industry-leadership in the global GPON market by offering first-rate products and superior services.
