OnApp has announced a partnership with IBM to bring the OnApp cloud platform to service providers, fully hosted on IBM's SoftLayer infrastructure, through the IBM Cloud marketplace at http://ibm.com/cloud.

The new partnership will make it easy for service providers - including cloud providers, web hosts, telcos and Managed Service Providers - to launch their own Infrastructure-as-a-Service clouds using the OnApp platform, running on pre-configured IBM SoftLayer infrastructure. It means service providers will be able to launch a range of public, private and hybrid cloud and dedicated hosting services on SoftLayer without having to purchase, configure, deploy and maintain their own datacenter hardware.

"Our partnership with IBM will make it easier than ever for service providers to launch their own clouds," said OnApp CEO, Ditlev Bredahl. "Soon you’ll be able to get your own pre-configured OnApp cloud, deployed on demand in SoftLayer datacenters, and sell cloud, dedicated servers, CDN and more without worrying about the hardware. With instant access to best-in-class infrastructure and the OnApp platform, we’re making it easy for service providers to launch new clouds and expand their footprint with new locations."

The OnApp cloud platform automates orchestration, server management, provisioning, scaling, failover, billing and more for a wide range of infrastructure services, including public and private cloud, dedicated servers, smart servers, CDN, storage, DNS and backup. OnApp also offers an easy way for service providers to expand their reach through the OnApp Federation, a global network of clouds with 170 points of presence in 133 cities, in 43 countries.

The IBM Cloud marketplace offers clients access to more than 100 SaaS applications, IBM's Bluemix platform-as-a-service, with its suite of composable services, the powerful SoftLayer infrastructure-as-a-service and IBM's rich intellectual capital and deep industry expertise, as well as OnApp. This single online destination with a suite of cloud services delivers a new buying experience for clients that enables line of business professionals to deploy new services faster; allows developers to build them with greater speed; and offers IT departments more creative, efficient and lower-cost ways to deliver these services.
