The Kenton Group and Cyan partner

The Kenton Group is to offer 100G networks with SDN / NFV to its European and Middle East customer base following a landmark agreement with Cyan, a leading provider of software-defined networking (SDN) and packet-optical transport solutions (P-OTP) for network operators. The agreement will allow Cyan to further expand deployments of its solutions worldwide, while enabling The Kenton Group to deliver more scalable packet aggregation and transport capabilities when building high-performance 100G networks for its customers.

Cyan’s Z-Series P-OTP, now deployed in more than 120 customers worldwide, coupled with the award-winning Blue Planet SDN and NFV orchestration platform, is a leading solution for network operators upgrading and evolving their networks from the access-edge to the regional core. Blue Planet is the first carrier-grade SDN / NFV orchestration platform built specifically for network operators and the wide area network (WAN). The Z-Series hardware provides an integrated, carrier-grade solution offering scalability up to 100GbE packet, as well as 100G optical transport, to support applications as varied as Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0), data centre interconnect, router bypass, private metro builds, and wireless backhaul.

Lee Palmer, Commercial Director at The Kenton Group says: “After evaluating many of the leading 100G suppliers, only Cyan offered a product set that can cope with the move to SDN and NFV in the packet-optical space which is easy to implement and manage. With Cyan Blue Planet management tools the whole solution is quick to deploy and easy to manipulate to meet the end customers’ requirements. Cyan’s Z-Series is well positioned to complement our access products and service offerings, while meeting the needs of our customers today and their growing demand for 100G networks and beyond.”

The Kenton Group continues to affirm itself as one of Europe’s fastest growing network access specialists with a client portfolio that includes BT, Talk Talk Business and Virgin Media. The agreement further supports its commitment to delivering innovative products that offer reliability and a low total cost of ownership to its customers.

“The combination of our network transformation solutions and The Kenton Group’s ability to deliver unparallel customer services presents Cyan with a huge opportunity to strengthen operations within the European marketplace,” added Paul Couturier, GM and VP of Sales, EMEA, at Cyan. “The Kenton Group has the regional presence and technical expertise to build dynamic networks that can handle the transformation requirements of service providers today.”
