Databarracks and Accesspoint Technologies announce partnership

Accesspoint Technologies, specialist provider of IT services to the Legal sector, has joined forces with secure email service provider, Databarracks, in a partnership announced recently. Peter Groucutt, Managing Director at Databarracks, commented on their latest venture: “It’s an exciting time in the legal sector, firms are beginning to embrace the scalability and cost benefits cloud services can bring, which is why we’re so pleased to announce our partnership with Accesspoint. As leading suppliers to the industry, this partnership will enable more firms to realise those benefits.

“In August last year we produced a report with legal cloud expert Frank Jennings, Chair of the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) Code of Governance Board, that highlighted the key challenges and benefits to law firms embracing cloud computing. The report identified the interest in cloud computing but highlighted concerns around compliance and security, but recently released guidance from The SRA and The Law Society is helping to placate those fears.

Richard Roebuck, Managing Director at Accesspoint agrees that the sector is going through a big shift in the way it consumes IT: “Cloud computing isn’t a new concept to the legal sector and, as Databarracks’ research highlighted, firms have been considering the various options available for some time and are now taking up those services. Support from bodies such as The Law Society is hugely helpful in encouraging firms to make their first move into cloud with offerings like secure email services.

Roebuck continued: “Email is one of the most important applications to firms, but it is often one of the most costly and time consuming to manage and maintain. It makes it one of the perfect use-cases to outsource to the cloud. The key factors for firms look for in a hosted email system are reliability and security, especially when considering client data and compliance. Together, we have a solution built to address these issues and provide the flexibility and scalability of a true cloud service.”
