The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), the industry body which aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry, has announced that OGL Computer, a leading provider of IT solutions, has become the latest Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to join its roster of members.
The Cloud Industry Forum was established in 2009 to provide transparency through certification to a Code of Practice for credible online Cloud Service Providers and to assist end users in determining core information necessary to enable them to adopt these services.
Based in the West Midlands, OGL Computer provides premier IT support and leading edge IT solutions to over 1,000 organisations large and small throughout the UK, including a wide range of hosted services, IT hardware provision and installation, disaster recovery and data backup, business continuity, and IT security.
Paul Colwell, Technical Director at OGL Computer said: “Businesses today are increasingly aware of the potential benefits of cloud computing and what it can do for them, but there still remains a certain amount of confusion about how to get the best out of the delivery model. Since its founding, the Cloud Industry Forum has done a significant amount of work to demystify the market place, educate end users about safe cloud procurement, and raise standards in the industry with its Code of Practice for CSPs. As such, we are very pleased to have joined, and look forward to working closely with CIF and its other members to help them on their goal of creating a trusted and sustainable industry.”
Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, added: “OGL’s reputation, considerable experience in the industry, and commitment to industry best practices make them a very welcome addition to CIF. Our members are passionate about the principles of transparency to help customers to make informed decisions and directly influence the direction that the organisation takes. We are delighted that OGL has joined our ranks, and we look forward to their ongoing and valued participation.”
