Virtustream selects Zayo Group to provide connectivity in London

Virtustream has selected Zayo Group, LLC (“Zayo”) to provide fibre connectivity to its data centres in London. The project is expected to be completed in Q3 this year. Through this deal, Zayo will provide diverse fibre routes into each of Virtustream’s data centres. This will enable Virtustream customers to connect to Zayo’s extensive London dark fibre network, currently spanning 252 route miles in the London market. Zayo will also provide managed WDM services between Virtustream’s data centres and Telehouse East.

“Zayo’s focus on investment in network capacity in London and Slough made them an excellent choice for us and our customers” says Luiz Vianna, managing director for the United Kingdom and Israel at Virtustream. “In addition, their extended reach in Europe allows for growth as we continue to expand our services into these key markets.”

Alastair Kane, European vice-president for Zayo Group, says “We view Slough as our second metro area network in the United Kingdom. By providing these new routes to the Virtustream data centres, both Virtustream and Zayo customers will benefit.”
