Tintri has announced that Peter Mahlmeister has been appointed as the company’s new Country Manager for the DACH region. The appointment shows Tintri’s ongoing European expansion, and its commitment to drive growth through its 100% channel model.
Peter Mahlmeister has been working in IT sales for 28 years and has a track record for expanding business in the DACH region via direct and indirect sales. Before joining Tintri, Mahlmeister worked for twelve years at NetApp in various positions, including Senior Director Telco and Service Providers. In this role Mahlmeister significantly developed the company’s DACH business. Before that he was responsible for NetApp’s top enterprise accounts in the EMEA region. Mahlmeister has also held positions at Discreet Logic, Autodesk, SGI and HP and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Rosenheim.
Mahlmeister said: “Organisations in DACH have been fast to recognise the potential of virtualisation for their IT environments. Now, there is demand in the region for a storage solution that can be completely aligned to the virtualised environment to reduce management complexities. Tintri’s products offer an exciting opportunity for organisations looking to streamline their IT. I am looking forward to building a strong partner portfolio to bring these products to the market.”
Tintri is building strong relationships with partners and customers in DACH. It is already working with distributor Arrow and a number of channel partners including Mightcare in the region. Customers include vocational school BBS Cloppenburg, which is using Tintri’s VMstore to support over 2,700 VDI users on campus and and Teufel Software, which has reduced its storage footprint by over 80 per cent.
Doug Rich, VP of EMEA at Tintri commented on the appointment: “Peter could not be a better fit for Tintri. He has a wealth of experience, both with direct and indirect sales strategies and knows this market inside out. The German speaking region is key to continuing our growth in EMEA and with Peter’s ability to work successfully with the channel, we are looking forward to continuing our growth here.”
