Cloud-based DIY video, if you’re good at it

vCreate Express is a cloud-based, personalised video tool now available to small businesses, but they will still need the right skills to avoid doing more harm than good

With the launch of vCreate Express, which the company claims is the world’s first cloud-based personalised video tool, the power of personalised video marketing is now coming available to small businesses that otherwise could not justify the investment in either on-premise tools of their own, or the services of a specialist media production company.

vCreate Express is already being used by companies such as Vodafone, Thomson Reuters and EMC. It brings the same benefits to smaller businesses looking for new ways to create cut-through marketing but at very low entry level pricing. Small business users can trial the tool for seven days free of charge and then continue to use it for as little as £10 per month.

Users are able to create bespoke, customised videos on-demand that are targeted directly to customers. It gives their business the flexibility to create, target and measure their sales and marketing communications like never before with just three steps.

The first of those is to record a personal intro, add PowerPoint or choose from a central library of branded clips. In practice, of course, this may prove to be more difficult to achieve than to say. It does rather assume that the small business has the planning, artistic and presentation skills necessary.

And it does need to be said that a poor marketing video can be more counter-productive than doing no marketing at all. However, it should certainly reduce some of the production costs associated with the process, and could in practice create a market opportunity for small, specialist media agencies that lack the investment to establish their own `studio facilities’.

The second step is to publish the blended video to a bespoke URL that is truly personal to an individual customer.

Lastly it is just a case of emailing the URL to the customer and measuring the response in real-time.

“When you use vCreate you’re presenting yourself, your company and your products and services in the best possible light. Your customers will see you as more professional, more innovative and more approachable. You’ll sell more, inspire increased loyalty and start to really grow your business,” said Ben Moore, Co-Founder & Managing Director of vCreate.
