Bangs has built and led sales organisations in OEM, end user direct and channel sales models in Europe and the Americas from early-stage beta wins through high-volume, transaction channels for both VC-backed startups and Fortune 10 companies. He comes to Tegile from Fusion-io, where he served as vice president of global partner programs and vice president of ioControl sales. Prior to Fusion-io, Bangs was senior vice president of worldwide sales at NexGen Storage. He has also held senior sales management positions at Hewlett-Packard, LeftHand Networks and Quantum Corporation. Bangs graduated with honours from London South Bank University with a degree in business.

With a 350% increase in Tegile’s year-over-year revenue, Bangs hiring in May continues Tegile’s expansion of its senior management team with the addition of experienced industry leaders. The company recently hired Bill Cordero as its vice president of worldwide channels and Narayan Venkat as its chief marketing officer. Together, these executives will help Tegile continue its worldwide expansion and growth of its award-winning partner eco-system that provides customers with best-in-class products and services to meet their IT infrastructure needs.

“We have been very fortunate to find people of high calibre to fill our expanded management ranks as we continue to scale out to meet the needs of customers worldwide,” said Rohit Kshetrapal, CEO of Tegile. “David brings an impressive skill set and level of experience in growing sales at leading storage companies, which we will leverage in order to satisfy the ever-increasing demands of today’s enterprise IT environments in terms of performance, capacity and features.”

Tegile arrays are sold exclusively through the company’s reseller channel, providing dedicated sales and technical resources to resellers to help close new business while its unique architecture offers the unparalleled functionality, flexibility and ease of use needed to cut storage expenditures in half, triple performance and easily manage storage without adding staff. Customers have the option to purchase units outright, lease them or go with a capacity-utilisation model through Tegile’s Agility Pricing Program.
