Netskope joins the Cloud Industry Forum

Netskope, a leader in cloud app analytics and policy enforcement, has become the newest member of the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), committing to the principles of achieving common standards of operational best practice within the cloud industry.

Founded in 2012 in Los Altos, California, Netskope is a leader in real-time cloud app analytics and policy enforcement, helping people safely use cloud apps so businesses can move quickly and with confidence. Netskope provides cloud app security for users whether on-premise or remote, on a PC or mobile device, or on a browser or native app.

Eduard Meelhuysen, VP EMEA at Netskope, stated: “Cloud is often marketed as an easier alternative to managing traditional IT and this can hold true when it comes to things like billing and service maintenance. However, cloud has also given rise to an IT estate that is infinitely more complex. The proliferation of cloud apps, combined with the rise in shadow IT and BYOD initiatives, has created new challenges for IT leaders, who now struggle to maintain visibility over their applications, ensure compliance and guarantee the security of their data.

“Netskope helps businesses embrace the cloud in a secure and controlled manner. Employees are empowered to use the cloud apps they want to use to get their jobs done more efficiently, but the IT team remain in complete control with tailored enforcement of policies.

“The Cloud Industry Forum’s aims for a safer, more transparent cloud are very much aligned with our own, and we look forward to working closely with them and their other members towards a fully-sustainable and trusted industry,” Mr Meelhuysen continued.

CIF, the industry body that aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry, was formed in 2009 to provide transparency through certification to a Code of Practice for credible online Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), and to assist end users in determining the necessary information to enable them to adopt cloud services.
Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, added: “More and more we expect to see organisations juggling a combination of on-premises, hosted, SaaS and private/hybrid cloud solutions, so good governance must be a component of any IT strategy. Netskope’s extensive experience in this area therefore makes them a very welcome addition to our membership roster. CIF members are directly responsible for our format, shape, and strategy, in advancing trust between users and providers of cloud services. Having the support of industry members such as Netskope helps bring depth in expertise to this arena, and enriches our Special Interest Groups.”
