CloudBees and Pivotal partner

Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees to be available on Pivotal Network.

CloudBees, Inc. has entered into a partnership with Pivotal to collaborate in the development of enterprise grade continuous integration and delivery solutions for Pivotal CF®, the leading enterprise PaaS, based on Cloud Foundry®.

This partnership offers Pivotal customers access to the leading continuous integration and continuous delivery software for enterprises, helping them accelerate the adoption of agile development and deployment practices. The Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees solution will be available as an add-on service for Pivotal CF later this year.

Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees provides additional capabilities beyond those offered within the open source version of Jenkins CI (continuous integration) server. The value-add offered by Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees includes technical support and a set of enterprise plugins for Jenkins. Particularly popular with large enterprises that operate extensive Jenkins installations, Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees gives development and DevOps teams added functionality in the form of additional plugins to enhance security, ensure high availability, ease Jenkins management/administration and optimise resources used by Jenkins.

“Enterprises have widely adopted continuous integration and continuous delivery as a best practice, with Jenkins Enterprise as the keystone,” said Sacha Labourey, founder and CEO, CloudBees. “This distribution and go-to-market partnership has real promise, as Pivotal CF is also being adopted by large businesses. Pivotal, CloudBees and our enterprise customers all share an affinity for delivering and deploying software with speed and at scale.”

Pairing Jenkins Enterprise with Pivotal CF gives Pivotal customers support for the full application lifecycle – covering all stages from development, testing, staging, deployment and into production.

“We chose Jenkins Enterprise because of the proven value it brings to our enterprise customers, and have partnered with CloudBees because of their leadership in continuous integration and delivery services,” said James Watters, vice-president product, marketing and ecosystem for Cloud Foundry, Pivotal. “Our goal is to provide Pivotal’s customers with the best overall experience. That’s why we are collaborating with CloudBees to ensure Pivotal customers can install and configure Jenkins with the same easy-to-use tools that we use to install Pivotal CF.”
