New contract wins drive expansion of specialist technical delivery team.

Following a prosperous summer of business development which has resulted in a series of new contract wins, NG Bailey has strengthened its electronic security team with the appointment of four leading experts and one promotion.

Electronic security implementations are a key growth driver for NG Bailey’s IT Services division, which specialises in the design, supply, installation, management and maintenance of voice, data and structured cabling solutions to contracting, enterprise and public sector clients.

The new recruits include Ian Tydeman and Alan Laine as project managers, Darren Morris as project engineer and Leon Povey as pre-construction manager. In addition, Denise Matthewson has been promoted to electronic security coordinator.

James Hill, business development manager, who heads up the electronic security offering, said: “Migrating a site’s standalone security systems to a fully integrated, IP-based environment not only enhances its functionality, it also has a dramatic impact on operating costs thanks to reductions in power consumption and maintenance.

“Many large organisations are hungry to reap the benefits that fully integrated electronic security systems can deliver, but are held back from doing so because they don’t have technical expertise in-house to design the new network architecture and manage the system’s migration. This is where we come in.

“As a technical IT services division within one of the UK’s largest engineering and facilities services businesses, we have the knowledge and awareness of both the traditional legacy systems, for CCTV and access security, for example, and the networked security solutions of tomorrow. This enables us to design a solution that answers each client’s specific requirements and guide them through the technical migration.”

The team has appointed two project managers to oversee a number of large, bespoke electronic security installations. Alan Laine joins from Keyways Security Systems and brings more than 14 years’ security experience to the team. Ian Tydeman also joins and brings 28 years’ specialist security experience to the team.
Darren Morris has been appointed to the position of project engineer. Formerly a team leader at Chubb Electronic Security, Darren brings some 14 years of technical sector experience to bear on the team’s operational capabilities.

With more than 20 years’ experience gained across a variety of industries, including telecommunications, security and construction, Leon Povey joins as pre-construction manager. Most recently, Leon served as ICS end devices project manager at HETCo, working on the Heathrow Airport Terminal 2A development.
Following two successful years as a project administrator at NG Bailey, Denise Matthewson has been promoted to electronic security coordinator. Denise has more than 24 years’ experience and has previously held a variety of supervisory roles at Chubb Electronic Security.

Denise is also responsible for managing, coordinating and maintaining NG Bailey’s National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold status which provides the industry framework for managing and continually improving an organisation’s policies, procedures and processes.

“We are already well known for our technical expertise and ability to deliver in this field,” adds Hill. “To maintain this quality of service throughout our growth, it’s vital that we only recruit exceptional engineers and marry them to the ‘best of breed’ systems and vendors. Today’s announcement puts this strategy into action. The talent and expertise that these individuals bring will ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation in this sector.”

In August, NG Bailey’s IT Services division announced strong financial performance for the year to 28 February 2014, reporting sales growth of 8% to £56m.
