Soonr to launch regional data centres in the UK

Soonr, a leading provider of secure file sharing and collaboration services for business, has announced plans to open new data centers in the UK. The new data centers will be the company’s fifth international jurisdiction where customers’ data is stored, transmitted, and managed locally, as Soonr expands to meet business concerns over data privacy and security.

The European region is among the fastest growing segments of Soonr’s business with growth in the most recent quarter of 112% year over year. Soonr is enhancing its regional presence with the addition of geo-redundant data centers in the UK to meet mounting customer demand. This will add to Soonr’s other international data center operations including facilities located in the U.S., Canada, Denmark and Australia. Soonr data centers are configured geo-redundantly, guaranteeing that all customers’ data is confined at all times to the jurisdiction and is mirrored in physically separated alternate data centers which are also in the same jurisdiction.

“By recognizing the value of regional data retention and transmission, vendors elevate their value to European customers,” said 451 Research Director Alan Pelz-Sharpe. “Customers want to know that their data is contained locally in a data center that has also been validated for strict security compliance. With the opening of UK-based data centers, this should help Soonr elevate its jurisdictional advantage over other file sharing providers.”

“We are committed to serving our European customers with the most robust, enterprise-class file sharing solution available – and that includes the ability to support jurisdictional privacy requirements,” said Ahmet Tuncay, CEO, Soonr. “By adding UK-based data centers to our international data infrastructure, we have become one of the only enterprise-grade file sharing services to recognize the distinct data security and privacy requirements of European customers.”

The new Soonr UK data centers will be online in the first calendar quarter of 2015. The company’s European customers are today supported through Soonr’s existing data centers located in Denmark.
