Interoute cloud is open for business in Spain

Europe’s largest cloud services platform continues rapid expansion with opening of new cloud computing location.

Interoute has opened a new Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) zone in Madrid, as part of its ongoing platform expansion. Built into the core of Interoute’s pan-European network, Interoute VDC enables organisations to deploy virtual computing and storage infrastructure for enterprise applications in minutes. Customers can select any of the European Interoute VDC zones across Europe to host their data, or take their service global using Interoute VDC zones in Hong Kong and New York. Data transfer data between VDC zones is free thanks to the integration of Interoute’s advanced network.

The expansion of the Interoute VDC into Spain brings locally compliant, low latency cloud to the Spanish market, and provides the global reach and scale needed to service today’s borderless digital marketplace. Interoute VDC makes the cloud viable for an aspirational developer or Spanish enterprise looking to transform, consolidate or migrate to a more flexible and cost effective platform. Interoute’s global presence means that there is no trade off between local performance and responsiveness with global ambition. Not only does it give Interoute VDC higher performance for the Spanish market than comparable offerings, it makes it more cost effective requiring fewer resources to serve end user customers.

Diego Matas, Country Manager for Interoute Iberia, commented: “The combination of services of a physical data centre and a Virtual Data Centre creates a unique value proposition in the Spanish market, due to both being integrated into Europe’s largest cloud service platform. Interoute VDC brings enterprises the flexibility of a public cloud platform, the security and reliability of a private cloud, and the geographical scope and distribution from the largest European network, creating a unique environment with hybrid capability. We are proud of the new VDC location which will help Spanish enterprises searching for the features offered by our Virtual Data Centres, fast network and flexible cloud environment.”

Matthew Finnie, CTO, Interoute, commented: “Interoute Virtual Data Centre is unique because our strategy is to bring the cloud to where our customers are, their customers and their legacy. Low latency means fewer resources to serve the same customers, greater opportunity to burst into the cloud and combined with Interoute’s extensive network and real data centres, Europe’s most scalable platform for any ambition. Whilst engineered for the ambitious, Interoute conversely doesn’t look to second guess the regulator or auditor, we believe compliance is best achieved by giving them a familiar model; data where it should be, access to only those who need it and never moving it unless you ask us to.”
