Fujitsu servers get DataCore certification

DataCore says that the latest generation of FUJITSU PRIMERGY BX, and CX servers, are all certified as DataCore Ready Software-Defined Storage (SDS) servers.

Also, the FUJITSU ETERNUS® DX series of storage systems has achieved DataCore Ready Certification, providing an additional pathway to expand and meet storage needs. Together, these new cost-effective solutions, powered by Fujitsu’s PRIMERGY servers and software from DataCore, deliver enterprise-class performance and scaling capabilities. Likewise, with DataCore’s new performance optimised software release and Fujitsu’s latest servers, the scale and performance has effectively doubled over that of the previous generation.

Fujitsu and DataCore solutions combine to deliver exceptional performance and the highest levels of availability to meet growing business demands within larger-scale enterprises. In addition, FUJITSU PRIMERGY servers and DataCore‘s Virtual SAN software make an ideal solution for the mid-market, especially for Microsoft virtualisation projects and mixed Hyper-V and VMware environments running business critical applications such as Microsoft Dynamics ERP, SQL databases, SharePoint, Exchange, SAP, Oracle and VDI.

DataCore’s SANsymphony-V and converged Virtual SAN software enable FUJITSU PRIMERGY servers to be transformed into fully featured software-defined storage servers that are able to virtualise, enhance and derive the utmost productive value from a company’s present and future storage investments.

With DataCore software, Fujitsu’s servers and storage products are now able to be easily pooled and integrated with existing storage from a variety of vendors, including EMC, Hitachi, HP, IBM and NetApp. DataCore’s automated caching and tiering technologies also make it easy to leverage the power and resources of FUJITSU PRIMERGY servers to accelerate performance over a company’s entire infrastructure of storage assets. The combination supports powerful features like metro-wide shared storage for clusters and business continuance, and automates the optimisation, provisioning and migration of data storage across the diversity of new or installed disk and flash-based technologies.

Enterprise-class Performance and New Random Write Acceleration Optimizations
The newest enhancements to DataCore’s SANsymphony-V and Virtual SAN software, now available and shipping, further boost I/O performance and enterprise class scaling, doubling the amount of nodes supported in Virtual SAN configurations supporting up to 64 FUJITSUPRIMERGY servers and providing the capability to deploy larger-scale 64 petabyte configurations with the power to drive over 100 million IOPs.

The new DataCore release also features a breakthrough Random Write Accelerator, an innovation designed to highly optimise random write processing (boosting speeds up to 30 times faster depending on workloads), especially for transaction-oriented applications like databases and ERP systems.

“The combination of FUJITSUPRIMERGY servers and our proven software-defined storage platform takes software-defined storage to a whole new price performance level,” said Christian Hagen, SVP DataCore EMEA. "While we work with all the popular hypervisors, the price performance of FUJITSUPRIMERGY servers lets us target a largely unfulfilled segment of the marketplace – that is, fast, affordable and simple-to-use Virtual SANs that support Microsoft virtualisation and Hyper-V projects and mixed VMware ESXi environments running critical applications such as SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, SAP, Oracle and VDI.”

A Growing Partnership Focused on Providing Greater Customer Value
Today’s announcement furthers the partnership launched earlier this year in Europe between DataCore and Fujitsu and the most recent introduction of new models to the DataCore SVA (Storage Virtualisation Appliance) line of jointly integrated and tested, turn-key storage virtualisation appliances. These latest SVA models are fully tuned systems which are delivered as turn-key appliances with all the necessary hardware and software included. Customer support services via a single point of contact are available from both Fujitsu and DataCore to assure rapid response and more productive user interactions. These easy to use appliances deliver outstanding performance, availability and scalability at a fraction of the cost of what traditional storage vendors offer.
