Computacenter opens Operational Command Centre in India

New facility provides expanded Managed Network, Security and Voice capabilities.

Computacenter announces an addition to its Global Networks Operations Centre (GNOC) estate with the opening of a new facility in Bangalore (B-GNOC). The new location complements existing facilities in Kerpen, Erfurt, Hatfield and Nottingham.

Computacenter has been working together with Indian IT infrastructure service provider Microland for over ten years, helping to meet the IT service needs of global customers. Together, the two organisations have collaborated on Managed Network Services projects for international brands such as a large German car manufacturer, and this new facility will continue to develop the relationship between the two companies.

In partnership with Microland the opening of the new centre will offer customers greater capabilities for Managed Network, Managed Security and Managed Voice services in a new location. With immediate effect, all standardised processes and tools available globally are available to Computacenter customers in Bangalore. Event Management and 1st Level Support for Managed Network, Security and Voice will be provided from Bangalore, whilst 2nd and 3rd level support will continue to be provided from Europe. As a result, customers will benefit from services provided from a single, secure source, at a competitive price.

"With the GNOC model, we are expanding our existing Managed Network structures and ensuring the international networking of our service team," says Simon Oecken, Group Director, Managed Services at Computacenter. "The location in Bangalore enables us to significantly expand our service capacities. Customers can now benefit from a growing web of Global Networks Operations Centres, which can offer the proximity and service to satisfy their needs."

The Global Network Operations Centre is part of Computacenter's Global Infrastructure Operations unit, for which more than 1,200 employees in the UK, Germany and South Africa perform remote infrastructure services.
