N-able by SolarWinds releases Backup Manager UDP

N-able by SolarWinds has announced Backup Manager – Arcserve® UDP, a robust new addition to its lineup of backup offerings for managed service provider (MSP) partners worldwide.

Now available, N-able’s Backup Manager Unified Data Protection (UDP) gives MSPs a single backup solution to address all of their customers’ needs, delivering the highest levels of storage efficiency in an advanced image-based backup design. The new offering operates across virtual and physical environments and provides quick restores along with streamlined backup management to drive profits and time savings for MSPs.

Designed to protect customer data from the endpoints all the way to remote archive sites, N-able’s Backup Manager UDP is powered by the Arcserve® UDP engine and combines industry-proven backup, replication, high availability and true global deduplication within a single, easy-to-use solution. The new “as-a-service” backup solution simplifies management by allowing MSPs to manage all customer backups from a single, unified console, reducing complexity by eliminating the need for multiple tools.

“With data protection challenges becoming increasingly complex for businesses of all sizes, this new feature-rich solution is on point and in demand by our MSP partners,” says JP Jauvin, general manager, N-able by SolarWinds. “Backup Manager UDP enables our MSPs to easily scale out across their customers’ IT environments, dramatically simplify backup management and deliver against their recovery point and recovery time objectives – whether on-premise, off-premise or in the cloud.”

Taking backup beyond simple compression, N-able’s Backup Manager UDP minimises storage of any duplicate data by ensuring that the common files between multiple customer sites are only stored once, resulting in a significant decrease in the amount of storage and bandwidth consumed. In addition, the solution provides quick restores, including image-based snapshots, to ensure business continuity without consuming too much storage.

Additional advanced features include:

· Simple task-based data protection and availability plans

· Agentless backup for VMware & Hyper-V (Windows & Linux VMs)

· Support for physical systems (Windows & Linux)

· Built-in replication and high availability for advanced backup

· True global deduplication reduces storage requirements and storage costs

· Migration of disk images to tape, with granular restore from disk or tape

· Self testing of backups as they are completed

· Easy to manage remote capabilities when used in conjunction with N-able’s N-central RMM

N-able partner centrexIT, based in San Diego, Calif., has test-driven Backup Manager UDP and sees great potential ahead for its SMB clients. “Backup Manager UDP’s unified management console gives us an easy way to manage everything – from high-availability functionality to off-site archiving – all in one place,” says centrexIT President Eric Rockwell. “The ease of use and high-performance features, such as deduplication, are also a huge selling point for us. Add to the mix that we can monitor and manage the solution within the N-able N-central® RMM platform and it’s easy to see how the new Backup Manager UDP fits into our managed IT services portfolio.”
