Skyscape Cloud Services becomes the first cloud provider in England to achieve N3 aggregator status

Skyscape Cloud Services Limited has been awarded aggregator status for the N3 network by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). N3 is the NHS national network, which provides hospitals, medical centres and GP practices with access to broadband, collaboration and voice services. In addition to its infrastructure role, the N3 network also securely delivers innovative third-party software solutions, including digital x-rays and analysis to front-line patient care organisations.

In order to achieve N3 aggregator status, Skyscape has met with the strict information governance standards set by HSCIC, which are required for all organisations that connect to N3. The process requires detailed and extensive due diligence on the part of the supplier to ensure that it is able to match or exceed specific security and information governance standards required by the Department of Health.

Skyscape’s new N3 aggregator status has made it the most connected cloud provider to secure government networks, by adding to its existing connectivity capabilities – including one of only a handful of suppliers to have achieved PSN certification. Skyscape’s N3 status is particularly important to its network of over 130 partners, many of which are active within the healthcare sector and want to offer their customers access to services delivered via Skyscape’s accredited platform. Indeed, Sacha Rook, Technology Director of Methods Digital commented: “As a partner of Skyscape, this is very welcome news. By using Skyscape’s platform, we will be better able to address the growing demand and requirement for our services in public healthcare.”

“We are extremely proud to be the first cloud services provider and one of just three British companies to be awarded N3 aggregator status,” said Simon Hansford, CEO of Skyscape. “The HSCIC is working alongside health and care sector organisations in order to support aggregated connectivity, and also helps to realise the many benefits offered in doing this, which is something that we wholeheartedly support.”

Hansford continued: “As a business that exclusively focuses on the UK public sector, we are fully committed to continuously re-evaluating and developing our service options, in order to ensure we’re meeting the evolving demands of the 30,000 public sector organisations in Britain. Our new N3 aggregator status demonstrates our ability to serve the healthcare sector with a range of secure cloud services.”
