SSE Enterprise Datacom specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of in-building and campus-wide data cabling solutions as well as undertaking civil engineering works for the construction of private fibre networks for Telecoms customers. SSE Enterprise Telecoms provides high performance, high availability data connectivity services between customer buildings throughout the UK. The decision to bring the two teams together creates a single business unit designed to fulfil demand for high performance connectivity solutions and services both within and between clients’ sites – ‘from desktops to data centres’.

“We’re pleased to announce the integration of these two key business units. As our optical networking business with demanding blue chip and public sector customers grows, bringing the network build capabilities of the Datacom team together with the network operation capabilities of the Telecoms team, just makes good sense,” said Colin Sempill, managing director of SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “The changes will gradually come into effect over the next few months and we’ll keep our customers informed as things progress, but we don’t expect there to be any disruption. Ultimately, our aim is to continue to provide our customers with excellent customer service and an even wider portfolio of world-class connectivity products and services.”
