The core video network, which extends throughout the U.S. and U.K., is owned and operated by Zayo. It provides customers with direct access to a single solutions provider, with a high degree of control and connectivity to key destinations, gateways, on and off ramps, customer sites and venues. These video exchange points are reached via Zayo’s core video network with infrastructure in eight key markets: Atlanta, Chicago, D.C., Denver, Houston, Portland, New York and London.
“Zayo’s long haul network and supporting infrastructure enables our customers to access hundreds of ‘on-net’ venues including stadiums, production and conference centers, hotels and casinos – making our service highly flexible and competitive,” said Walt Banfield, technology lead for Live Video. “Our deep fiber assets, combined with our new video technology and 24/7/365 monitoring, give customers unlimited broadcast and streaming video opportunities.”
The video network is managed by Zayo’s dedicated Video Network Control Centre located in Tulsa, Okla.
As part of its service, Zayo will provide customers the option to generate a quote, shop and purchase live video services through Tranzact, Zayo’s innovative online shopping and self-service platform. Video services are expected to be available via Tranzact by mid-year.
The expanded Zayo team has extensive experience with large broadcasters, studios and sports networks, and has founded businesses that serve, and have built networks for the largest media companies in the world.
“We look forward to working with customers to solve their business challenges and our network ownership provides flexibility to meet their specific needs,” said Mike Emerson, Live Video business unit lead at Zayo. “We believe the combination of our flexible approach, our experienced team, and the economics of our owned network assets will deliver exceptional value to customers.”
