VCE solutions with Citrix mitigate risk and reduce desktop TCO to provide an unmatched experience in deploying VDI so organisations can provide their users with the freedom to work from anywhere using familiar applications on any laptop, desktop or mobile device. The deepening of the partnership between VCE and Citrix has resulted in the expansion of the ever-growing portfolio of VCE End-User Computing Services that provides customers a simple, rapid path to application and service delivery in cloud environments.
“Secure mobile workspace solutions are integral in today’s business landscape but pose many IT challenges in deployment and management. VCE is committed to removing these barriers to reduce complexity for a seamless transition to VDI,” said Tim Page, Chief Operating Officer, VCE. “The VCE and Citrix partnership brings together deep proven knowledge of converged infrastructure and application and desktop delivery software that allows customers to efficiently and effectively realize their goals for user-centric mobile workspaces.”
The new VCE service leverages speed and efficiency of factory integration to rapidly and reliably deploy XenApp and XenDesktop software in a virtualized or cloud computing environment – with the exceptional agility, reduced risk and extraordinary assurance that can only come from VCE. Key features of the service include:
· Full implementation and advance testing of Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and NetScaler components – including virtual desktop pools and configurations.
· Configuration of Citrix Profile Manager, which provides an easy and reliable way to enjoy a consistent experience every time a user logs onto their workspace.
· Operational installation and configuration of Citrix NetScaler – an industry-leading application delivery controller.
“This new VCE service accelerates mobile workspace deployments by combining app and desktop delivery from XenApp and XenDesktop with the power of NetScaler into a complete, factory-built solution that can be quickly installed, turned on and provide faster time to value for our joint customers,” said Simon Hayes, Vice President of Strategic Alliances & Business Development at Citrix.
"We are excited to see two industry-leaders, VCE and Citrix, working together to raise the bar on the ease of deploying a powerful virtual desktop and application solution," said Maria Pardee Vice President and General Manager of GIS Workplace, CSC. "As a result of this partnership CSC will be able to enhance our customers’ experience by minimizing the risk and time associated with implementation of mobile workspace solutions."
