Tenable Network Security has announced a technology alliance partnership with CyberArk, the leader in privileged account security, helping customers make the headache of managing user credentials during vulnerability assessments a thing of the past.
Beginning in June 2015, Tenable’s Nessus and SecurityCenter Continuous View customers will be able to retrieve credentials from the CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault for use in vulnerability scans, simplifying and automating the process of adding and updating credentials in Nessus. The ability to pull credentials from CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault, which is part of the CyberArk Privileged Account Security Solution, also means customers can automatically enforce security policies within specific departments or for specific business unit requirements, which simplifies compliance.
“Tenable already provides the most flexible continuous network monitoring solutions in the market by supporting remote and local, credentialed scans,” said Ron Gula, CEO, Tenable Network Security. "Through our technology partnership with CyberArk, managing credentials is now even easier and we are looking forward to strengthening and deepening our work together in the future.”
Security admins know that conducting network vulnerability assessments means getting access to and navigating an ever-changing sea of usernames, passwords and privileges. Tenable has previously addressed the challenge of credentials management by offering Nessus Agents, which eliminate the need for scan credentials by installing lightweight vulnerability scanners on IT assets. By integrating the CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault with Nessus v6, Tenable Network Security now grants customers even more choice and flexibility for reducing the credentials headache.
“Together with Tenable, we help IT teams reduce the risk of unsecured privileged accounts and credentials across the enterprise – including those used by administrators and commercial applications like Nessus,” said Adam Bosnian, executive vice president, global business development, CyberArk. “CyberArk’s ability to control privileged accounts within the network perimeter complements Tenable, providing joint customers with a comprehensive cybersecurity solution.”
