BMC has become the world’s first enterprise IT management provider to secure EU accreditation for its Data Privacy Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) as both a controller and processor of data.
The certification has been approved by the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), the French Data Privacy Agency, on behalf of the European Data Protection authorities.
The approval covers both BMC’s handling of personal data (controller) as well as the personal data it handles on behalf of its customers (processor).
The BCRs are a comprehensive global data protection and privacy framework allowing BMC to transfer personal data outside of the EU in a safe manner and in accordance with local laws and regulations.
“Safeguarding the privacy and security of critical information is a top priority for businesses in the data driven-economy,” said Jonathan Perez, global privacy officer at BMC.
“This accreditation sends a clear signal to our customers and partners that we take our responsibility of securely managing their data seriously and have EU-level approved standards to do so,” he added.
They are considered the platinum standard for data privacy compliance. BMC’s BCRs apply to all personal information wherever it is collected and used in conjunction with any BMC business activity.
