Skyscape Cloud Services has been selected by health informatics specialist, Aridhia, to host its AnalytiXagility platform, which will enable data-driven projects to be executed more quickly, accelerating clinical research into illnesses such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes. AnalytiXagility is delivered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) via Skyscape’s assured cloud infrastructure, which maximises flexibility and cost control for organisations due to its usage-based charging model. Skyscape’s security credentials were key to its selection, given the sensitivity of the information that is stored on the AnalytiXagility platform and the need to handle patient data securely and in compliance with data protection regulations.
AnalytiXagility gives researchers access to collaborative analytic workspaces within a secure platform in the Skyscape cloud that can be accessed immediately. Data security and integrity are ensured as the platform is securely and resiliently hosted across Skyscape’s two UK data centres, and project data is regularly backed up. The platform adds a further layer of assurance around data security and integrity by delivering full tracking and auditing of data interactions and access.
“Aridhia’s contract with Skyscape further highlights the success of how the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is improving the IT procurement process for the UK public sector, and encouraging interaction between major governmental organisations and UK SMEs such as Skyscape,” said Euan Stillie, CTO at Aridhia. “By offering Aridhia the flexibility to build virtual collaborative workspaces for researchers that can then be billed by the hour, Skyscape is helping the NHS to achieve significant savings through cloud projects, further benefitting the medical research needed to tackle the rising burden of avoidable illness.”
AnalytiXagility already underpins a number of critical clinical projects, including an engagement to develop a data solution that will help to reconfigure delivery of specialist cancer services in London. As increasing numbers of researchers opt to use AnalytiXagility for their projects, Aridhia can rapidly and cost-effectively scale up its presence and associated data storage capacity in the Skyscape cloud.
“Our cloud computing platform will dramatically reduce capital expenditure for Aridhia, and also facilitate savings in operational costs and time for the NHS,” said Simon Hansford, CEO of Skyscape Cloud Services. “Furthermore, our accredited cloud services mean that Aridhia can take full advantage of Skyscape’s high performance and scalable cloud solutions, without any compromise to its significant data security requirements.”
