Zayo Group Holdings has introduced its VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered cloud service, which provides customers with greater flexibility through a dedicated hosting environment. Built with and operated using VMware vSphere® 6 and VMware vCloud Director®, Zayo can now rapidly deliver a differentiated hybrid cloud solution that enables customers to utilise the same VMware infrastructure off-premises as they are running on-premises.
With these enhanced hybrid cloud solutions, Zayo customers can manage and move on-premises, VMware-based workloads to Zayo’s private or multi-tenant cloud infrastructure seamlessly, from a single management console. Zayo’s new hybrid system provides one integrated interface for both public and private cloud access, delivering a solution that is seamless and easy-to-use when moving VMware-based workloads among onsite data centres, internal private clouds and the public cloud. By leveraging VMware vCloud Director, Zayo is able to deliver improved agility, performance and scalability to customers.
“The industry needs IaaS solutions delivered on a highly flexible, workload-by-workload basis with the mobility optimised in hybrid cloud solutions,” said Greg Friedman, executive vice president, Colocation and Cloud Infrastructure at Zayo. “The enhancements we have made to our platform, combined with the investments in security and advanced monitoring, are enabling us to deliver on these new enterprise requirements.”
“VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered services enable our service provider partners to differentiate themselves and help them bring their enterprise-class cloud services to market in this competitive landscape,” said Jim Aluotto, director, Service Providers, Americas, VMware. “We look forward to supporting Zayo as it delivers on the agility and performance customers are looking for in the cloud computing landscape.”
