Established in 2009, the Cloud Industry Forum is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve standards and education in the Cloud industry. CIF provides transparency through certification to a Code of Practice to endorse credible providers of Cloud Services and, through its Cloud Adoption Roadmap assists end users in determining the core information necessary to enable them to adopt such services with confidence.

Operating in over 40 countries worldwide, 8x8 has led the charge in Cloud-based communications, offering a wide range of services, including telephony, unified communications, web and video hosting. The communications provider is well known for its scalable Cloud platforms that combine simplicity and ease of use with reliability and security.

Kevin Scott-Cowell, Managing Director UK at 8x8 said: “We are confident that Cloud services will continue to grow in popularity as businesses look for ways to improve the reliability of their IT, improve their services and drive cost efficiencies across their estates. Trust is a critical part of the Cloud service contract and it is essential that end users have confidence in the capabilities and trustworthiness of their chosen CSP. That is one of the reasons why we see the Cloud Industry Forum as so important. Its efforts to help end users make better use of Cloud have been invaluable, and its Code of Practice for CSPs provides a benchmark for responsible Cloud providers.

“CIF provides a forum in which key stakeholders in Cloud can discuss and predict Cloud trends and find ways to overcome potential challenges facing the industry. We are therefore very pleased to have joined,” Scott-Cowell continued.

Alex Hilton, CEO at CIF, said: “8x8 has contributed significantly to the Cloud industry, having helped thousands of organisations globally to transform the ways in which they communicate and collaborate. For this reason, they’re an asset to our expanding membership base and add considerable weight to us as an organisation. We look forward receiving their expertise as we work to establish a more trusted, accountable and sustainable Cloud ecosystem in the UK.”
