FalconStor Software has appointed Tony Martin as UK and Ireland Managing Director. This appointment highlights FalconStor’s focus on accelerating its position as a leading storage innovator in the region.

With extensive experience in software development and sales, Martin joins FalconStor having previously spent time as Senior Vice President EMEA Channels at CA Technologies and, most recently, as Vice President EMEA at Progress Software. Martin has also held the positions of Director at Advanced Legal Solutions Limited and Managing Director at Computer Associates UK.

“The digital revolution is generating a rise in mobile applications and Internet-connected devices, causing an explosion in big data,” said Martin. “Because of this, storage demands are increasing rapidly, and the focus on making storage more efficient is crucial. All of this makes it an incredibly exciting time to join a company such as FalconStor, which has the technology, expertise and experience to make a significant impact in the UK and Ireland.”

One of Martin’s key responsibilities will be rolling out the company’s award-winning, software-defined storage platform, FreeStor®.  FreeStor, the industry's first truly-horizontal converged data services platform, unlocks a new world of storage opportunities, allowing IT managers, MSPs and CSPs to maximise efficiencies and lower costs while taking advantage of the public cloud, hybrid cloud, flash storage and software-defined storage.  FalconStor’s groundbreaking Intelligent Abstraction® approach delivers seamless access and unified data services across entire storage infrastructures without having to invest in new technology, or rip and replace existing platforms. Always-on availability and continuity keep businesses running while enabling them to move, synchronise and protect data seamlessly across virtual and physical storage platforms.

“This is an important year for FalconStor as the software-defined storage market is quickly maturing,” said Alan Komet, FalconStor Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations.  “Tony’s appointment is integral to building our presence in the UK and Irish markets.  His vast experience working with the channel, enterprise customers, service providers and the software industry in the areas of systems and storage management will be beneficial to FalconStor’s growth as we continue to support both existing customers and attract new business by showcasing the financial and operational benefits of FreeStor.”
