Storage Made Easy has released an
updated version of its Linux Cloud Apps Suite that is compatible with several different versions of Linux and which works with over 50 different public / private cloud storage vendors including OpenStack, Office35, Ceph, Google Drive, Amazon S3 and more.
Storage Made Easy’s suite of Apps for Linux includes a dedicated graphical Cloud Explorer and drop box like sync Application as well as a FUSE interface for a Linux Cloud Drive implementation. Unlike traditional file systems that save data and retrieve data from disk, the SME Linux Cloud FUSE based virtual file system does not actually store data but acts as a view of data stored remotely. This is a very good way of being able to access, for example, large amounts of Object Storage that is stored remotely.
The Linux Cloud App Suite, in addition to the Windows and Mac Cloud App Suites, are desktop Apps that can be used with the Storage Made Easy Enterprise File Share and Sync Solution, which is available as a hosted service, as a dedicated IaaS service or as a self-hosted enterprise on-premises solution.
Storage Made Easy CEO Jim Liddle said, “We have long made a commitment to our Linux users in terms of having very rich and functional applications available for a variety of Linux operating systems. These are updated regularly and provide a similar level of functionality to our Windows and Mac Cloud App Suites.”
