NETSCOUT expands its cloud offering

24x7 service level agreement testing of cloud-based services for successful migration of mission-critical applications.

NETSCOUT SYSTEMS has expanded its service assurance technology for hybrid and public cloud computing environments with the introduction of nGeniusPULSE.

Larger enterprises have been running virtualized, private cloud environments successfully for years and have depended on NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE Service Assurance platform to protect the performance of their mission-critical, customer-affecting business services. These same organizations have been migrating applications and select parts of their IT services to hosted cloud services and software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers. However, their ability to accelerate this migration has been limited to date because they have lacked solutions that would provide the necessary visibility to monitor the performance of these services, and more effectively prevent and resolve outages.

“Public cloud services afford flexible computing and cost structures for the business, but they traditionally come with a loss of visibility and control for many IT organizations,” said Jim Duffy, senior analyst, Networking, 451 Research. “The addition of nGeniusPULSE to the nGeniusONE platform gives NETSCOUT customers the ability to measure service levels and quickly resolve problems.”

“NETSCOUT’s customers not only understand the importance of visibility from their private cloud experience with nGeniusONE, they consider it an imperative as they increasingly look at how they move  customer-impacting applications to the cloud,” said Michael Szabados, chief operating officer, NETSCOUT.  “The combination of nGeniusPULSE with the nGenius platform, with its ability to test cloud-based services for availability, responsiveness, and adherence to service levels, gives enterprise IT leaders the actionable insight to migrate with confidence. Only NETSCOUT is providing pervasive visibility for application service assurance across the diverse combinations of private, hybrid, SaaS and public cloud architectures enterprises are deploying today.”

nGeniusPULSE performs synthetic testing for the monitoring of SaaS, cloud-hosted, on-premise applications, voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services and network health to identify current and potential connectivity and performance problems. By simulating user interactions with an application via nGeniusPULSE, IT staff can produce reports of cloud and SaaS services that can be shared with providers to ensure availability and high-quality delivery of these applications, thereby collaboratively achieving service level agreement (SLA) compliance.
