Kaltura, the leading video technology provider, and SWISS TXT, the digital subsidiary of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, have partnered to enable European customers to take advantage of the popular Kaltura SaaS video platform, hosted locally at the state-of-the-art SWISS TXT European data center, which complies with all EU data privacy and security standards and meets corporate governance requirements.
This new deployment option adds to Kaltura’s wide range of existing deployment options, including its US-based video cloud, global deployments running on Amazon and Azure, as well as on-premise deployments for multiple global customers.
The joint offering is based on SWISS TXT's private media cloud infrastructure, Swiss media cloud, which is operated in two data centers in Switzerland.
SBB, the Swiss Federal Railway, has already deployed Kaltura’s enterprise video platform, hosted by SWISS TXT, to deliver a flexible corporate video solution to their 33,000 employees on desktop and mobile. This ensures that there is minimal impact on their existing publishing processes and minimal additional load on their internal IT networking infrastructure.
“Demand for locally hosted video solutions is booming, and we are delighted to team with Kaltura, the leader in the video SaaS space, to address this growing need with our state-of-the-art local cloud infrastructure, and supreme service,” commented Michael Solan, Head of Business Development, at SWISS TXT.
“As we continue to expand our European presence with new partners and customers rapidly coming on board, we are seeing a growing number of companies and educational institutions that require local hosting for security and compliance reasons,” said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Co-founder, Chairman and CEO, “After carefully evaluating several options, we are excited to partner with SWISS TXT to expand our reach and cater to local requirements at the highest level.”
SWISS TXT’s cloud infrastructure is used by the Swiss Public Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR for streaming all of the company’s web content, as well as additional sport event broadcasts, HbbTV and cable operator Quickline for their popular OTT DTV offering.
