Tieto signs e-commerce deal with major retail chain Granng?rden

Granng?rden, a chain with more than 100 stores around Sweden which specializes in products within gardening, animals and agriculture, has chosen Tieto as its partner for creating a next-generation solution for its e-commerce and omnichannel operations. With this new solution, Granng?rden aims to develop their customer experience and to lay the basis for online revenue growth and seamless omnichannel experience.

Granng?rden has been using SAP Hybris for several years but needed to stabilize and renew its systems to strengthen their customer experience and increase sales. The successful deals come on the back of Tieto’s increased focus on e-commerce and its acquisition of Finnish company Smilehouse, which expanded its expertise in using e-commerce software SAP Hybris.

”Investments in digitalization are strategically crucial for expanding our business. With Tieto we can deploy new versions many times faster than before. Short time-to-market and business agility are preconditions for success,” says Monika Dagberg, Head of eCommerce at Granng?rden.

Dag Widell, the company’s CIO, sees immediate effect of the partnership. “Tieto’s high knowledge of SAP Hybris and their structured and high quality work methods has already made our Hybris platform stable and with increased quality.”
Granng?rden is the second strategic customer Tieto has signed with recently within the Swedish e-commerce market. Retail chain Indiska Magasinet, which has around 100 stores in the Nordics has together with the team from Tieto successfully implemented their new solution for its omnichannel operations.
”We are very proud to have been selected by Granng?rden. Tieto now has more than 300 employees focusing on digital customer experience covering areas like e-commerce, content management, analytics, personalization, customer service, store digitalisation and big data. Coupled with our vast experience in different industries, core systems and for example cloud and security services, we are able to offer our customers a very strong end-to-end concept”, says Jaakko Hartikainen, Tieto’s Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Management.
The deal was finalised at the end of last year, and Tieto started working on the project right away.
