Exponential-e extends engagement with VIRTUS Data Centres

Exponential-e, the British cloud and network provider, has renewed and increased its use of VIRTUS’ colocation facilities due to customer demand.

Under the new agreement, Exponential-e has extended its footprint at VIRTUS LONDON1 and taken additional capacity to cater for growing requirements. This makes VIRTUS data centres its largest strategic colocation deployment with in excess of 1.5MWs of total capacity. The space across VIRTUS LONDON1 and LONDON2 will be used for colocation re-sale, managed services and private cloud.
To satisfy the company’s need to expand, VIRTUS will provide Exponential-e with a dynamic environment to white label and support its own virtualised cloud service. This incorporates high bandwidth and direct internet exchange access, enabling them to provide their own 100 Gigabit Ethernet, layer 2, low latency connectivity.
Darren Watkins, managing director for VIRTUS Data Centres, said, “It is testament to Exponential-e’s success as a managed service provider and the UK’s hunger for cloud that has brought about this need for more capacity. We are really pleased that they have chosen VIRTUS to support their growing business.”
Mukesh Bavisi, managing director for Exponential-e, added, “We started working with VIRTUS five years ago and we chose them specifically because of their credentials to help facilitate the expansion of our cloud offering and colocation services. In particular, we looked for a data centre solution to host our primary node for applications virtualisation and to be the hub of our retail colocation offering. By relocating operations to VIRTUS, our cloud services can be more geographically diverse, enabling us to grow our business and reach out to enterprises that operate in complex and regulated industries. With VIRTUS, we have longevity of service, with the flexibility to continue expanding in the future.”
