Ingram Micro has strengthened its growing portfolio of cyber security offerings for UK & Ireland resellers by announcing the availability of Avast’s AVG Business security services. From August 2017, Ingram Micro’s partners can resell solutions including AVG Internet Security Business Edition and AVG Antivirus Business Edition, among several others. The new partnership will later make available Avast’s AVG Cloud Care and AVG Managed Workplace solutions on the Cloud Marketplace, to Ingram Micro’s 800+ Cloud partners.

AVG Technologies became part of Avast in September 2016, creating one of the world’s largest cyber security firms. The combined company has over 400 million users and 40% of the consumer security market, outside of China. Through AVG Business, Avast intends to strengthen its position in the UK B2B channel with an award winning range of cyber security solutions. With the addition of AVG Business, Ingram Micro further enhances its cyber security portfolio following new partnerships with Spamina and AlienVault in 2017.

Apay Obang-Oyway, Director of Cloud & Software UK and Ireland at Ingram Micro, said: “The global threats posed by cyber criminals have never been more apparent to UK businesses than they are now. Businesses are looking to shore up their defences in light of recent, well publicised ransomware attacks. Solutions like AVG Business, geared towards SMBs, provides end users with award winning enterprise level technology from one of the world’s most recognisable security brands.”

He continued: “We’ve seen significant engagement from partners around the forthcoming GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) legislation and we have been producing original, relevant educational content to help our partners understand the compliance requirements. We’ve also begun to build out a range of cyber security professional services through our Comms-care Technology Delivery Team, to add further distinctive value to our partners alongside our white label Cloud Support services. The addition of AVG Business to our cloud & software portfolio strengthens Ingram Micro’s position as a thought leader in cloud, and an excellent partner for UK partners to work with to capitalise on the growing cyber security opportunity. Ingram Micro’s partners in the UK & Ireland should continue to expect us to innovate in technologies significantly in infrastructure-as-a-service and security”.

Erik Preisser, Senior Sales Director at Avast, commented: “The channel is an extremely important focus for our AVG Business products; we are actively looking to work with more partners to address the growing cyber security opportunity in the UK & Ireland. Ingram Micro’s combination of the Cloud Marketplace, alongside its extensive expertise in software and first class wrap-around services, provides AVG Business with an ideal partner to grow our business in the channel and target the increasing end user demand for cyber protection solutions.”
