Zenium tops out at Frankfurt Two

Zenium has celebrated ‘topping out’ at its new Frankfurt Two data center facility.  The ceremony was attended by Zenium’s CEO and Founder, Franek Sodzawiczny and Thilo Moser, Managing Director at Lupp Group - the construction partner.

Just one year since breaking ground, Frankfurt Two is on schedule to provide cloud providers, systems integrators and large enterprises with a fully customised, energy efficient, carrier neutral environment that will deliver the capacity and connectivity they require. In fact, Zenium has already secured a pre-let contract for 8.7MW of power with global IT Services companies at the new facility.

“Agility is essential in the data center industry,” said Franek Sodzawiczny, Zenium’s CEO & Founder. “The ability to identify opportunities and to deliver solutions that directly address the business needs of our customers is key to our success. We are delighted to be bringing to market this purpose-built and highly efficient data center.”

Located in Sossenheim, Frankfurt Two will deliver 17.6 MW of IT power to 7,500 sqm of world-class technical space housed over five floors providing highly resilient, concurrently maintainable power and cooling to Tier III+ standards.

“Lupp Group has executed brilliantly against a very specific brief,” continued Sodzawiczny.  “We definitely selected the best construction partner for the job.  The team has been efficient, reliable and committed at all times.”

Earlier this year Zenium also confirmed plans to purchase 6.8 acres of freehold land from DATA-Center Frankfurt West GmbH. The greenfield site is adjacent to Zenium’s existing data centers and will be the location for Frankfurt Three. Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2018, and will bring Zenium’s total build area in this region to 25,400 sqm GEA.
