Veeam shows Clas

Clas Ohlson, one of Sweden’s leading retail chains, has selected Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus to deliver the non-stop hyper-availability needed to meet evolving customer expectations and ensure it maintains its competitive advantage. The Swedish retailer relies on Veeam solutions to keep its online business running and ensure that business-critical systems can support the sales of the thousands of useful products it sells internationally.

"We had to ensure we could support our expanding online operations and keep our competitive edge, so at the beginning of the year, we began to look at alternatives to our legacy solutions. We soon found that Veeam would help us deliver the availability we sorely needed, and also fit well into our existing environment,” said Fredrik Olofsson, IT Architect with responsibility for data center and infrastructure at Clas Ohlson.

Backup of all virtual servers is now managed by Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus. These servers process everything from ERP systems to SQL servers, from logistics systems to web and financial systems. Even the checkouts in the stores require the data center to ensure they are online and continuously available. Veeam has a logical structure with fewer clicks and less risk of mistakes. According to Olofsson, Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus “just works.” The time the company’s IT staff spends on backup and availability has decreased dramatically.

“A key strength of the Veeam solution is its user-friendliness,” continued Olofsson. “It was very quick to integrate with our existing systems, and meant we were able to do our first backup very quickly, without the need for any significant training or lengthy installations. Additionally, it means that we now spend significantly less time on backup than before, which allows our team to put energy into other projects.”

“For Veeam, the deal is proof of the performance of the product in the retail business segment,” said Victor Engelbrecht Dohlmann, Nordics Sales Manager, Veeam. “This was by no means a simplistic infrastructure to work with, but Veeam can integrate with even the most complex of systems, to ensure hyper-vailability for any data, any app, any cloud. This is the peace of mind that Veeam delivers.”
