Tieto enters into strategic partnership with Citrix for providing new generation hybrid cloud services

The Nordic IT services and software company Tieto has entered into a strategic partnership with unified workspace, networking, and analytics provider Citrix to provide new generation hybrid cloud services. With Citrix, Tieto meets current and future digitalization requirements of public and private sector organizations by responding to market demand for simpler and more flexible ICT environments. In the first stage, covering the Tieto Energized Workspace service, over 200 Nordic customers and 250,000 end users will benefit from the new services.

Digitalization of businesses and citizen services require increasingly flexible, but at the same time more cost efficient, ICT infrastructures. While cloud technologies offer opportunities for this and their market continues to grow, it is the combination of different types of clouds and on premises environments - hybrid environments - that currently enjoy rising popularity among Nordic organizations. As noted by IDC, cloud usage is evolving and preferences and purchasing processes are changing.

Tieto, partnering with Citrix, will utilize the Citrix Cloud services on Microsoft Azure as the foundation of its Energized Workspace service. This will provide individual users of Tieto's Energized Workspace secure access to data and applications, on any device (such as a tablet or phone) via a hybrid cloud environment. The new service will in the first phase cover over 200 customers across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, benefiting over 250,000 users.

For the end user, this will ultimately encourage a more flexible, productive way of working. From a business point of view, this hybrid cloud environment simplifies the ICT environment and makes it more scalable and faster to build. Unifying management across the entire hybrid cloud environment, it also enables eg. faster application deployment.
