Storage specialist Cristie Data has delivered a new proactive infrastructure strategy for British Bakels, one of the leading suppliers of ingredients to the bakery market in the UK.
British Bakels is expanding – it recently opened a new £10m distribution centre in Bicester, Oxfordshire – but as customer demand has grown its legacy HPE storage struggled to cope because it had reached end of life.
Using HPE Nimble Storage and the predictive analytics of HPE InfoSight, Cristie Data has delivered the storage capacity and resilience British Bakels needs to support its future growth.
Mike Savage, Network and Infrastructure Manager for British Bakels, says, “I’m really impressed with the Nimble Storage, it hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s exceeded our expectations and the deduplication is unreal. We’re saving money on storage, power and management time, and have plenty of capacity to cope with our future requirements.”
As a Gold Hybrid IT HPE partner Cristie Data has a close relationship with the technology giant and was therefore able to bring them directly into the discussions with the bakery leader.
Ryan Smith, Sales Director of Cristie Data, says, “This was our first engagement with British Bakels, so it was important that we took the time to understand their environment and specific challenges. Our skilled pre-sales team ran some independent analysis and were able to make recommendations based on the findings. HPE Nimble Storage was chosen as the preferred technology based on its simplicity and flexibility, allowing British Bakels to scale capacity and performance as their business continues to grow.”
