Veeam names virtualDCS as Platinum Partner

Cloud computing and disaster recovery specialist, virtualDCS has become the first UK owned channel first Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) to be named as a platinum service provider by the global software giant, which is the world leader in backup, recovery and data management solutions that deliver modern data protection.

Only a handful of other companies throughout the world have earned Veeam’s highest accreditation, which is awarded to its top partners in recognition of many years of experience working with Veeam, the outstanding technical capabilities of its engineers and the exceptional knowledge and customer service standards that its sales team offer.

This follows virtualDCS also becoming the first UK-based VCSP partner to achieve the Reseller Ready competency from Veeam last year. This gives virtualDCS an official seal of approval to resell Veeam’s entire product portfolio including BaaS (Backup as a Service), Veeam Backup for Office 365, DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service), off-site backup and MSP (Managed Service Provider) backup.

Richard May, managing director at virtualDCS, said: “We have a longstanding relationship with Veeam that dates back to 2008, and the company’s best of breed solutions are now the only product portfolio we work with. Last year we also took the decision to focus on what we do best, which means we now specialise in providing infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery services, with UK data sovereignty, to IT partners that want to offer cloud-based backup services to their clients and end-users.

“These two factors combined have given us both the ability and ambition to become one of the software company’s leading partners and securing Veeam’s highest accreditation possible is testament to this. It reinforces the trust that our clients have in us and further assures them that we offer superb value, both commercially and technically. We’re now looking forward to continuing to build on our partnership with Veeam and further developing the back up and disaster recovery services that we offer, with several more exciting developments on the horizon.”

Pamela Napier, senior manager of cloud at Veeam, said: “Every company we work with aspires to become platinum accredited, but the stringent technical review and requirements mean there are fewer than 100 platinum partners in the world. Companies that achieve platinum, must demonstrate the very best technical capabilities and be able to offer their clients an exceptional level of service and expertise at every level.

“virtualDCS always go above and beyond and have worked hard to forge a strong and successful relationship with Veeam. All IT companies have technical knowledge, but virtualDCS have created a strong presence from themselves, working on joint marketing initiatives with us and always being proactive in exploring ways to enhance their services and add more value to their clients, which all played a part in achieving this partner status.”

In addition to being the first UK VCSP with a dedicated channel only business model, virtualDCS is one of only three UK based VCSPs to have created their own muti-tenant front end for M365.

Earlier this year, in another innovative UK first, virtualDCS unveiled a brand-new solution to bridge the data protection limitations of the popular open-source container software, Kubernetes, commonly dubbed K8s. Known as CloudCover K8, the solution is built utilising software from Veeam’s latest acquisition, Kasten.

The solution has already been shortlisted for the Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Innovation of the Year award at the SDC awards. In addition, virtualDCS is also shortlisted for the Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Project of the Year.
